Distribution Reinvestment Plan: Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust

Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust (MNACT) has yet again announced a Distribution Reinvestment Plan (DRP) for their semi-annual distribution. The DRP issue price for new units is $0.963, representing a discount of 6.5% from today’s closing price of $1.03.

As with the last two distributions, I will be electing to receive my distributions in the form of units instead of cash. For those who are opting for DRP, do remember to submit your notice of election by 8 Dec 2021, 5pm. You can do so via the hardcopy or online via CDP. You can follow my quick guide here on on how to do so electronically.

For those who prefer to receive their distributions in cash, no action is required as the default payment is cash. MNACT will pay out $0.03426 per unit on 24 December 2021.

I have been meaning to increase my position in MNACT (hence the DRP elections) though I have not acted on it. Am hitting myself for not adding more earlier this year. That being said, the price movement was not substantial enough to warrant any action on my part. Not sure if it is a good or bad thing that the price did not fluctuate too much since the start of the year lol.

Maybe it would have been better to just pull the trigger when it hit my target price instead of waiting it out and sitting on the sidelines. At least I would be receiving more distributions this time around if I had done so even if there was not much capital appreciation. Oh well, I shall make sure to do it by NEXT Christmas so I can have a nice little cash gift waiting for me on Christmas Eve 2022, haha!
